Maruyama brought together great artists and made several unique projects, such as S akamichi no Apollon and Terror in Resonance directed by Shinichiro Watanabe, the adaptation of the manga Ushio to Tora for anime, Punch Line directed by Yutaka Uemura, Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis directed by Keiichi Satou and Garo: Honoo no Kokuin directed by Yuuichirou Hayashi, who made Sunghoo Park debut as the episode’s director. Maruyama’s goal was to escape the corporate restrictions that Madhouse was going through, giving him creative freedom to produce the anime he wanted, in whatever way he wanted. After seeing the problems the developed within the studio, he opted to leave and created the Maruyama Animation Produce Project Association (or MAPPA for the most intimate). Maruyama is a famous producer, as he is the founder of the studio Madhouse. The year was 2016, when MAPPA’s founder Masao Maruyama left the studio. We won’t reveal the names of the animators who said negative things about MAPPA with the utmost safety in mind. We regularly say that studio MAPPA has several problems within their productions, so it’s only fair to talk about them, especially on the day the studio completes 10 years of existence!
